About Kate Reed

MA (Counselling)

I am a woman, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a partner, a dreamer, a teacher, a student, a ceremonialist, a writer, a traveller, a weaver, a friend and so much more - just as you are.

I am a recovering high achiever. An insatiable seeker. A survivor. An optimist.

I curl and unfurl according to the cycles and seasons of Gaia's natural rhythms and am supported and guided on many levels.

I believe in equality, and integrity and that love and compassion are the most precious gifts we can offer one-another.

I am deeply called to working in Circle with women as we heal our hearts and re-connect to our own internal guidance system to help bring peace and balance to our lives, our communities and the collective.

How did The Sister Circles begin?

I have been facilitating Sister Circles for over 20 years, amongst the many and varied contours of my professional life as a counsellor, youth worker, health coach, and business owner.

In 2014, I lost two childhood friends to suicide within a month of each other. It was an incredibly confronting and intensely sad time for me and so many people I love. It was a time of deep introspection about life, death, and purpose.

Like so many unexpected events of such significance, it immediately brought my life choices into sharp focus and I realised that I needed to devote my energies towards creating Sister Circles full-time.

Since that time, I have facilitated hundreds more Circles and Workshops and created a Level 1 and Level 2 Facilitator Training Program so women can take this work back into their communities.

Having worked with women who are healing the deepest of wounds as well as those who are looking for some clarity in their lives, it is an honour and a privilege to gently and lovingly help each woman on their way to finding more peace in their hearts and more happiness in their lives.

My dream is that every woman has the opportunity to sit in a safe and empowering Circle as they navigate the joys and challenges of life.

What is this work based on?

All the Circles, Workshops and Retreats I create (and co-create) are a blend of modern human psychology and shamanic/ earth based practices.

Combining both in circles, rituals and ceremonies, allows us to feel 'safe' in our left brain (masculine structure) so we can surrender and explore from our right brain (feminine flow). This is the sweet spot where the magic happens and we are tuned to the higher frequencies that sit just outside our everyday awareness.

I strongly believe that women are being called to rise both individually and collectively. To do this we must continue to take responsibility for our personal healing journey. Being in Circle with other women is an important pathway towards this.

Facilitator Training

Teaching other women how to hold safe and sacred Circles fulfills me in a way that nothing else can. It is without-a-doubt a large part of my soul contract in this lifetime and I walk this path with gratitude and reverence to my ancestors, my teachers and all those who are helping and supporting me to continue this work.

In 2017 the Level 1 Facilitator Training Program was internationally recognised as an approved modality with the International Institute of Complementary Therapist. This was an important milestone for validating the potency of this work and the skills the graduates gain from the Training.

The Sister Circle Facilitator family is growing at a beautiful rate and I welcome you with open arms to the tribe of women who have also felt activated by ‘the call’ to hold sacred Sister Circles in their communities. I am so happy you are here. For more information on the Training Programs, Click Here.

‘I am continually inspired by the courage of women who are willing to show up and to be vulnerable and receive the support of their fellow Sisters. Deep healing can happen when a person is ‘seen’ and held in love by others.’

I am an insatiable student and am devoted to continuing to learn new techniques and skills that I can bring to my work and to my women-folk.
